Rosland Gold Racing Secure Top 10

by | Jun 12, 2021

Having been out of the seat for over 12months, backed up with ITV4 Commentators saying it was one of the strongest grids in years. There was a real buzz in the air as the team set about for Qualifying following a productive Free Practice Friday. With a few changes to the car’s set up being made following qualifying, Race One was soon upon us. Having made a good start, Andy got caught up in traffic and slightly squeezed wide into turn one whilst battling for 9th position. As the race soon settled into a pattern this was not the case for Andy. With his head down and in the thick of the action, he crossed the line in P12. First race done…2 to follow. Building upon race one, Andy took a completely non-conventional line into turn one, making up 3 places before the hairpin and complex. As the train of Ginetta’s continued and feeling more at home in the new office of the GT4 SuperCup, Andy took the chequered flag with a P10 finish.

It’s true to say that practice makes perfect, and if you study long enough you will always continuously improve. Well that was just the case for Round Three. With a revised grid for the final race, targets and objectives set. Andy made a ballistic start with his shoulders firmly out. Spencer continues-“I knew what to expect from the other drivers now. When the light goes green its flat out all the way to the chequered flag-sounds obvious I know. There’s no time to settle down until you’ve created a gap before homing in on the next driver and you’re in the groove. The GT4 SuperCup isn’t the easiest of cars to drive and there’s a lot to take in during a 12 lap race. Especially in my first season. I’m pleased to have been able to improve throughout the day and bring the Rosland Capital Ginetta GT4 SuperCup home in 9th place. I seriously can’t wait for Brands Hatch, as I know where the improvements are to be made”.

As we leave Snetterton P11 in the Drivers’ Championship, it’s only a two week window until we are back on the road to Brands Hatch-Kent.
